I've been lookig at the blackhawk stuff

and I want to get something realistic, not some mall ninja tactical outfit, just a couple of pouches for carrying mags.
Any other suggestions?

I hit up the thrift stores for purses, backpacks, carry bags and all the rest, tote bags etc.
at one time,i had a good supply of various bags, gave all away.
I have a few for ammo and mags ,I wont need any more in my life time.
Also the army surplus type places for old ,bags.
Yard sales too.

You have to understand that there are many options. Do you want a shoulder carry bag? Do you want a metal ammo can that you can grab and carry? Do you want the magazines at waist level? Or do you want them on your chest? Are they 20, 30 or 40 rounders?
Do you want velcro, alice clips, malice clips, WWII style?
Do the magazines go on the rifle?
There is no one answer.

USGI M16 pouches can be had for around $8+/- in good shape if you want them for a belt set up. If you want to look more non-descript, some type of shoulder pouch might be the way to go. I have used a GI butt pack slung over my shoulder on numerous occasions bumming around the woods. Sportsmansguide has some Euro milsurp bags that are in great shape and most are less than $10 and will hold 4+ mags and your lunch.
