| AK-47 type rifle used to foil Texas robbery.
Apparently, when a Texas Jewelry store was held up, the store staff opened fire on the robbers. One of the store staff utilizing an AK-Type rifle*: *Most likely of the Semi-Automatic variety. Texas Store Employee Uses AK-47 to Stop 4 Armed Robbers |

Good fire discipline only the shooter got hit. Geoff Who notes this is only based on known unreliable media reports. |

t-star, Generally speaking, Texas is a BAD place to pull a robbery, as a large percentage of our folks are "armed to the teeth" & know how to use their firearms. yours, sw Last edited by stand watie; 10-05-2016 at 07:59 AM. |

GunGeek, EXACTAMUNDO. Here in Bexar County, a homeowner or businessperson defends their premises with a firearm on the average of once per day. Over HALF of those defense incidents are with the homeowner/businessperson using a SHOTGUN. FUNNY THING though, we never seem to see those figures in the SAN ANTONIO EXPRESS-NEWS or on radio/TV. yours, sw |

God Bless Texas. Now I just need to convince the rels that it's a place where the quality of life and cost of living savings of moving there are more than worth the costs of being shipped back here to Mossback Hell for burial... and convince my gal it's a better place to spend winters than playing Nanook of the Fricking Frozen North. lol |

Diamondback, FYI, "Winter in South Texas" is defined as: The 3 weeks each year when the Canadian lovelies put a cover-up on over their bikinis. yours, sw |

If "Minnesota skinny" is 20 lbs overweight, what's the translation for "Canadian lovely"?

Guess I better not invite C. to join us here... while she's fighting with a little more than she likes to carry, she's far and away the taller and trimmer of the two of us. (Trim enough that you could probably fit my ribcage around her, and I wear a size 46 suit jacket--she's about a 40-30-40, but she's also 5'10" without heels.) Top, if you were my age that would've gotten you a Gibbs-slap. ![]() Last edited by Diamondback; 10-06-2016 at 07:07 PM. | |

FWIW, the cost of shipping remains is quite reasonable....or at least it used to be. Back in the late 1990s it cost me about $150 to return Mom to the North. While Tops photo is probably typical, there have to be exceptions. On the other hand, there are advantages if you happen to be in the area. I spent about 3 months in St Paul and, being delicate, many of the guys appeared to believe in growing to "full market weight" as judged by Hormel (big employer in the area). Going into the bars, some of the local gals would look, say "OMG, that guy can see his feet without looking in a mirror, he's MINE!" Getting pick of the litter was a really neat experience for me. |

| Yeah, but at my age I'd be the one slapping Gibbs. Oh, and Gibbs was way too easy on DiNozzo.
