TRUE, though IF I should ever face a WOUNDED Cape Buffalo or any other dangerous game at "reach out & maul, claw, stomp or eat me range", I would much prefer a 10-guage DOUBLE & loaded with 3.5-inch 000 Magnum Buckshot to any other hunting weapon.
(Shikari, & former Major, Indian Army, Peter Pauling once removed the head of a wounded tigress, who was trying to EAT him at less than 8 measured feet, using 2 loads of buckshot.)
Btw, the "client', who had wounded the tigress, bitterly complained to everyone within shouting distance that his "lovely trophy was ruined beyond repair".
(Given my "known to be peculiar" sense of humor, I thought that the client's reaction to MAJ Pauling saving his & perhaps the clients life was somewhat "amusing".)

I'm positive that a Trenchbroom will be packed away with the other survival gear, but I'm not sure that it would still be a hunting expedition if I'm so armed and have become the quarry?
