WHO Assembles G3 & CETME Rifle Kits??

Friends,

I've found a CETME parts kit in NICE condition, new receiver, new barrel & the other "Part 922 components" to put together a legal SA rifle BUT have come to the sad conclusion that my very limited building skills are exceeded by the requirements to build the kit, as I have no barrel press & don't know how to weld.
(Building a CETME kit build is FAR more complicated than completing an AR or AK kit!!!)

I can easily inspect the kit for completeness/function (It LOOKS fine & appears seldom fired.), thoroughly clean/degrease the metal parts, refinish the NICE wooden stock & fore-end & after the metalwork is completed, I can/will do the metal finishing & assembly.
(Underneath the accumulated "crud", the wooden stock & fore-end show considerable "figure", are quite handsome & should refinish nicely.)

Do any of our members do this work OR do any of us know a person who can do the partial job??
(I would prefer a person within a reasonable driving distance of The Alamo City.)

yours, sw

Without knowing who assembled the kit, backing away slowly would seem to be the best bet. If the barrel isn't installed on the receiver*, make that run away. If you are still on the fence, I'd strongly suggest checking the head space. Head space on the roller lock is adjusted by different size rollers. Source of which may be really, really interesting.

*Besides the press, you need the fixture to support/align the receiver and/or barrel during the pressing operation.

William R Moore,

SORRY that I wasn't clear. = The CETME kit is NOT even started being put together, other than cleaning up the grease/crud from 2+ decades of storage.

Fwiw, I'm looking for someone who knows how to barrel/weld/assemble "the hard part" of it properly.
Once that's done, I'll refinish the metal & refinish the wood.

PTL is making HK clones from scratch. You might inquire about parts.

About someone with the jigs/press- no clue. At least beyond PTL, I doubt they'd do your kit.
