Unknown Rifle Stock

Pick this stock up for a project (refining skills), but the original owner nor I know what it is for, any help would be appreciated.

That appears to be a hardwood stock for a Marlin Model 60 .22 rifle.

Thank you, knew someone would have seen it before. Now that I know what rifle it goes to I can start the finishing process.

Do have one question; the whole at the end of the stock, originaly I thought it was setup to receive and end cap now I am wondering if it is part of the tube magazine?

The Model 60 doesn't have an end cap.

I would say that hole is where the stock making machine held the stock during production. Once it has been shaped and inletted, then it would taken off the machine, and be cut off back where the magazine channel starts.
