Springfield Mark 1 question
I am going to buy a Mark I from a buddy and would like to know what to look for. It is 1.189 mil ser. # range and has a 42 dated barrel that is in great shape. It does not have the correct Mark I stock. When was the rec. made? I am getting it for 600. Anything else to know?

The receiver dates to early 1920 and I believe it was towards the end of Mark I production. As the barrel and stock are replacements, I would look for condition of the parts - no rust or undue damage.
If you want to read a little "history" about the Mark I, try this link. Great story!
