I found a M700 PSS in .308 Win at the local gunshop today.

No scope, but has Leupold rings (matte, and not sniper grade), harris bipod, and a nylon sling (black). Cost= $699....

Well, what do you guys think? (I think kinda high).

That sounds better than what I paid for mine $750 new.
If its new $699 is the price that I see in the Shotgun News for the 700 Police. Compared to the FN/Winchester Tactical bolt rifles at $1000+ it's a lot cheaper and performs about the same.

I think PSS meant Police Sniper System then they started to just call it 700 Ploice.

Are you sure its not VSS?

Very sure...PSS does not have that stupid bolt locking device that you use the green keys for. VSS does.

It is a used gun.

Since it is used then the price is too high even with the extras they are including.

See if they will go down to around $550.

Ha, ha. I hate that stupid device. I cant tell you how many times i have gone to the range and forgotten that stupid green key......

$699.00 sounds a little high for a used PSS. I realize that there are some minor differences between the VS and PSS, but thats about what i bought my 700 VS for new a few years ago.

I think it's a high price tag , but then I was grousing about payin $625 when the first came out several years ago . But it was a lefty and in .308 so I just knuckled down and bought it , haven't regretted the choice .
