Wooden Ammo Box Identification
I am wondering if anyone can help me identify what I have. The shipping lables are on boxes of Caliber 30 M2 AP 1,500 cartridges.
They were shipped from the Umatilla Army Deop in Hermiston Or, on October 1966 to the Dillon Rifle and pistol Club.
Re: Wooden Ammo Box Identification
DCM supplied M2 ball to clubs that had Garands. What you have is one of the cases that the ammo was shipped in. I have one in my basement that I still use for storage of Garand ammo. I expect it has two U shaped rods that go around the box and through the top and 4 wing nuts that hold the top on. That is typical of that case design.
