Reloading blanks

I have a couple hundred fired 7.62X51 blank brass. Is it feasible to reload as blanks. Seems like it would be easy if you had some way to re-crimp the case mouth. BTW, I am aware that brass from blanks is not safe to reload into complete rounds.

Huh, somebody should have told me about this. I've been doing it for years with no problem. Actually makes some decently accurate rounds.

Maybe I am wrong but many years ago I read somewhere that blanks are made from brass that for some reason did not meet the specs for full strength loads... Maybe that has changed.

I have always heard the same thing.

I've never had a problem with them as far as splitting, stretching, blowing out primers or anything else. I do find some that are shorter than the trim to length and put those in the scrap. These are the blanks with the red disk holding the powder back. The other type with the mouth crimped would likely split if loaded with a regular bullet.
