I was given a box of this by a buddy who had long since traded off his Makarov.

It's a full 50 round box. Box is green, in good shape.

Is this collectible, or merely expendable ammo?

I know Norinco stuff has been banned from import since the 90s, but I also know that don't make it a collector's dream either. But, I also believe in saving things for posterity where possible, so if this is something that should be held on to, I will, and will just order some more ammo from J&G or the like.

For what it's worth, it's head stamped something like 3-93, or something -93 anyway.

A footnote:
This has nothing to do with this particular post, but this same friend gave me a 90% box of Winchester .45 ACP Black Talon ammo (box has 18 out of the 20 rounds present). I plan on hanging on to it. Seems like it could be some devastating ammo, should the need arise.

I've not seen any real interest in collecting Norinco ammunition. The green box, yellow box, black-white box, or other iterations. It was pretty much blasting ammo, even in the 80's. I'd say that it would be in the range of any other 9x18 FMJ bulk ammo imported today.

I'm not aware of any particular collectability of Norenco ammo either. I'd call it "blasting" ammo myself.

The new Ranger-T ammo is an improved version of the old Black Talon. You can likely sell the old stuff to someone who believed the hype, and buy a 50 round box of the new.
