I helped Armscorp out from the end of 02 until about May of 03. Those receivers from 16950 to about 17025 I engraved, deburred, parked, milled on, etc... I also did a few of the Fulton ones....like FA0101 thru like 10 I think...its been awhile.

Those were all made about Feb-April 03.

Armscorp is 1577X, bought this as a receiver from a member here.
Don't know when it was made.

It's a all TRW now :p .

OK...here are mine

1622x receiver only standard
1623x receiver only standard
DMR03xx receiver only rear lugged

all marked as “7.62 MM M14 NM”

But I don't know when they were made... my armorer had them in stock when I had the rifle(s) built. I will try to glean that info and add to this post later

out...

Lee,
Got another Armscorp reciever , 1594X ( now all Winny) to go along with 1577X (all TRW). just wondering why the lettering on the 1594X is alot deeper than on 1577X ? Looks like being that close on numbers they would be about the same.

boomer, congratulations on the new addition to the family. 8) You raise a good question. FWIW, here's a description (from my book) of how Valley Ordnance numbered the M1A receivers for Springfield Armory, Inc.:

" Receiver heel stamping machine - The receiver heel markings were made with a pneumatically operated machine using straight dies and a rolling fixture. The receiver was held by the fixture and rolled on a radius while the pneumatically operated ram holding the die stamped the heel. The first die stamped U S RIFLE and 7.62-mm M1A for receivers just under serial number 063000 or US RIFLE M1A for receivers over serial number 063000. The die was then changed so that the machine could stamp the brand name. Then the third die was installed in the machine to stamp the individual serial number."

Armscorp Receiver, Marked as:
US RIFLE
7.62MM XM25
1728X

Purchased as a stripped, rear lugged receiver from Armscorp on 07/29/06.

I know that some of these rifles were marked with inscriptions other than "M14" for sale to/in communist states, however, is/was there such a real M14 type of weapon that was an "XM25"?
