M14 walnut stock from Fred's
I purchased a walnut stock from Fred's for my M1A springfield. The fit is very tight, the back of the receiver lacks approximatly 1/2 inch bottoming. How much force should one use, should I use the trigger guard to seat the rifle? My issued M14 in 1965 just seem to fall into the receiver. any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: M14 walnut stock from Fred's
You might find that you need to loosen up on the 2 stock liners screws ,install the receiver and then tighten down after seating the receiver, it could be just the liner needs to be tweaked to your receiver.
Hope this helps!
