| M1A is now a bolt action
My friend needs your help. We were at the range today shooting his Springfield M1A National Match. The first few rounds were fine and then the bolt stopped cycling. I can eject the shell by pulling the bolt and fed the next round. I continued to shoot this way and it was fine. What can be happening here? Thanks! |

The gas cylinder plug is loose or missing The spindle valve is closed. The gas piston is in dire need of carbon removal. | |

Were you shooting reloads? If so, they may not have been sized enough for an M1a....just a thought.

Happened to me this weekend. Fired my first shot and thought my rifle's extractor was broken (again). Looked foward and saw the gas spindle was closed. I forgot to open it after cleaning. DOH.
