| mag locator FAQ
Would the mods consider an M14 mag FAQ link? Something along the lines of "who's got good ones" |

List has been updated. Brownells and Elite K9 no longer carry the CMI magazines with the BRW S-1 marking.

Many companies carry Brand X mags that may or may not work. One way to go is to buy CMI made mags from Armalite. CMI is the maker of M14 mags for the US armed forces. They are the REAL DEAL...FOR SURE. CMI mags work EVERY time and the price is right. The Brand X mags have cost me several hundred dollars in order to get all my gear up and running. I bought from several companies that claimed their products were USGI. As it turns out, it was commercial crap that I have to replace. If I had known about CMI, I would have bought those from the first. I would have saved myself aggravation and money too. With CMI, there are no headaches. |

Armalite has been removed from the List of Recommended Suppliers due to a credible report that current production CMI magazines are no longer available from Armalite.

Added LAW483 to the list. ETA: Cole Distributing sold out of 1960s production M14 magazines in January 2008. |

Added CDNN Investments as they are selling CMI marked magazines sealed in the blue plastic bag. LAW483, 44Mag.com and CDNN have the best prices on CMI magazines as of 01-27-08. R A Parts is out of stock of 1960s USGI M14 magazines. |

List updated. Deleted CDNN and LAW483 as magazine suppliers as they don't list CMI magazines on their respective web sites. Added R Guns. FYI, I spoke with representatives of CMI today at the 2010 SHOT Show. They had one of their twenty round stainless steel magazines on display, very nice. It has a steel follower with a PTFE coating. It is marked C.M.I. on the rear side. |
