Big Red stocks
What do you guys think of these? I ordered one from Fred's yesterday. I got the one described as Excellent for $45. His add says "most of these look Unused" I know they are birch which is harder than Walnut. I've seen pictures of these before and I like the burnt orange/red look of them. Just wondering how theyu are liked by those who own one and how they compare to the other varieties of Gi Stocks?

I got a couple big reds (one birch one walnut) from freds a few weeks ago. The grip area is fatter and the wood around the receiver is much thicker as well as along the fore-end. These stocks will be excellent for bedding. The birch is reddish orange as you said and has a beautiful straight grain. The walnut is dark brown with a very unique pattern in the wood.

I have a birch one; the butt and grip are very thick, as is the mag well area, but it slims out close to the front end.
I found the synthetic stock to be too slim for comfort, so I went with an E2 stock, then got a Big Red; I find the BR to be as comfortable as the E2 (very surprising).
