Do you have a .308 bolt action to go along with your M1A?

My new Savage 10FLP is on the way! This is the left-handed model of the 10FP, one of the rifles in the Law Enforcement series. It is only made in .223 and .308. You know what caliber I chose. This rifle has a bedded stock, heavy barrel and accu-trigger. I bought a nice scope for my M1A but didn't like shooting it with optics. I prefer shooting with iron sights. I am putting this scope on my bolt gun. I think these two rifles will make a nice match. Now reloading will be even more fun.

What bolt action .308s do you use? Do you shoot them a lot?

The Remington 700 is a very good rifle, one of the best for sure.

Matching bolt gun

Yeppers, stainless Remington 40X repeater in 7.63X51. More accurate than my heavy M1A but kicks harder. Not nearly as much fun to shoot.

Another Rem 700 here. Heavy barrel, heavy syn stock. It shoots Fed 168 BTHP into one ragged hole at 100yds. AIRBORNE!

I have three tactical bolt guns in .308. A Sako, a Remington 700P and an older Remington 700PSS on which I need to mount a scope.

Heavily modified Steyr SSG P-II with McMillan McHale stock and Carl Zeiss 3-12X56mm. Groups at ranges under three hundred meters are okay; beyond that they are outstanding. Curious thing about the SSG, it's really all about the upper limits of cartridge's range.

Recently bought a used, excellent condition Savage 110FP in .308, polymer stock, heavy barrel. Came with a Simmons 6-18x x 40 scope, not mil spec quality but fine for now.

Also have an Ishapore Enfield 2A1 in .308 as well as a Spanish FR8.

Check out an FR8 if you like compact, bolt actions. These were trainers and backup rifles during the conversion to the NATO round and the CETME rifle in Spain. They are short and light in their full military form.

I've been thinking about getting one. When I do the chamber will be reamed for 7.62x51NATO and not .308...then when I find an accurate surplus load for both I'll start stockpiling

I have a Ruger M77MKII VT (heavy barrel, stainless, laminated stock) in .308. ..a good shooter. Usually set up with a Harris bipod and Leupold scope of some sort...she's naked right now. Was thinking about selling her, but since reading this post I'm reconsidering. My M1A Standard is irons only, so maybe I should get a new scope and bipod and get the Ruger back out. She's not fussy at all...she loves delinked 7.62 machinegun ball. Hey that rhymes!

Same Savage Tacticle setup that I have, including the scope! I also put a Harris bi-pod on it.

Just received an Armscorp M1A to head the herd.

Also have all the .308/7.62 variants that I'm aware of.
