ka 72 head stamps

Hi i just pick up some Korean milsurp and wanted to know if it's corrosive

7 clips
56 rounds
1 bandolier

Its say this on the bandolier

1st line 5.56 MM
2nd BALL KM193
3rd 10RD CLIPS
4th LOT PS-81J101-005

Ignore the bandolier. Look at the headstamp.

KA = Korrosive Ammo
PS = pretty Safe
(not really, but an easy way to remember)

But since it is already on clips, I'll bet it is KA headstamped and corrosive. Clean after use.

I have PS 5.56, but have never seen KA 5.56

The Korean Arsenal closed in the early 70's and almost all production was taken over by Poonsang..that's why no KA 5.56.

For some reason the KA 30.06 on en bloc clips comes in 5.56 marked bandoleers. Don't know why, where or who did it this way?

KA ammo is indeed corrosive. The bandoleers are a blast. I received WWII, Korean, Viet Nam era bandoleers. Same with the clips. Just clean with rifle well.

KA in my Garand is not particularly accurate (KA 72 headstamp). Is it the ammo or do I need to get out and practice more?

I've got a KA bandoleer that is a re-marked .30 carbine tracer from LC

kinda nifty. Did the Koreans recycle bandoleers alot?
