anything i can do for rust in my barrel?
I have recently obtained a 1942 SA with what appears to be the origional barrel. It has some rust and pitting in the bore, but not too bad. Is there anyway to stop this from getting worse?

Not much you can do to remove the pitting but you should be able to get the rust out if it's not real bad. I would use JB's bore paste to get the rust and other crud out. I've used it and it does get a lot of crud out that Hoppes #9 misses. You may also want to build yourself an electro-bore cleaner, they also work real well. Also with a pitted barrel they can take a lot longer to clean because some of the crud is trapped in the pitting and that's were an electro-bore cleaner works well and saves you time. They are easy to make and only cost around $10.00 in stuff.
