TE/ME Gauges

Is there any one in the Orange / L.A. county area that has a set of TE and ME gauges that would be willing to let me come over and check my TE and ME, or trust me enough to send me a set to borrow?
I'm a tool and die machinist so I know about guys and their tools.
Thanks
Jon

Baker, would you mind posting the address or phone number for the company that you bought the guage from? Sounds like the one I am looking for. Thanks, AJ

Re: TE/ME Gauges

I found this info from Steve Matthews on the CMP Discussions Forum:

"I still have gages left to sell. Send a S.A.S.E. to Steven Matthews, PO Box 125, Scott, Ohio, 45886 for full info. I make the gages only as a service to other M1 collectors and its only at a hobby level now. Its not a bussineess, your just dealing with a fellow hobbyist/ collector. The Stone Axe website was closed down about a year ago when I decided to focus my time on writing and other endeavors. Sometimes I dont get the mail as soon as some people would like. The PO box is a 25 mile round trip from my resisdence and I only make the trip a couple times a week. I live in the country and have important stuff sent to the PO box since we suffer from vandalism and uncaring snow plow drivers at home. Its not unusual to find my mail scattered all over when the kids or snow plow gets done with the home mail box. If I get an info request you get a reply even if it may take a few extra days. Steve"

I just sent him an SASE with my request.

Re: TE/ME Gauges

Yes , Ed is correct about sending Steve a SASE with your request . Steve is not making these as a business anymore ,just selling as a individual to a few collectors . M1 Garand gauge in 30.06 is $52, M14/7.62 Garands $53,and funds must be a money order or Cashiers check,he does not accept personal checks .
I bought 1 for my Garands and 1 for my M1A's . Very well made in my opinion and well worth the $ . They also come with very easy to use directions .
Sorry for the late reply ! I guess I need to check in a little more often.
Hope this helps !
Mike
