Helpful info on BFA mods for those working on Honor guard M1
I stumbled upon this helpful technical bulletin while working on the last VFW's rifles that I worked on. I can verify that it indeed works, why I don't know but it does. So if your blank firing rifles are haveing trouble cycling then read this and modify the blank firing adapters ,see link below.

I did weigh the powder in one of the new crimped LC 04 blanks and found it to be 12gr. of a fine grey flakey powder. Clearly the cases are not full of powder like I first thought.

Basically drill out the hole until it works. Makes sense.
BTW, you can shoot 308 blanks from a 30-06 Garand with no problems. The chamber may get a little dirty, though. Century usually has some cheap. IIRC, it was no more than $50/1000, maybe even less.
