A Sea of M1 Garands

Gentlemen,

How about that many in your gun room. One thing I would like to ask if I may. What are they doing to our M1 Garands ?

Sorry about this pic. it was on old microfilm from the late 1940's

Is that what heaven looks like?

What great place that must have been. But I have no real clue as to what they are doing. It looks like they are putting them together in the background....or atleast making sure they are assembled properly. Or maybe they are putting grease on them

I would also have to say that they are dipping them in cosmolean, each person appears to have a similar starion and there also seems to be quite a few large cans that could hold greese, on the left it appears there is some sort of heating receptacle that could be used to melt the cosmo.

Probably a WAG but I had to try

Gentlemen,

Many of you had the answer or were very close. The answer to the photo above shows the following:

These M1 Garand Rifles are being checked and greasing the rifles is done by hand.

Time frame about 1943 ?

Take a look at the next file.
Thanks again
Clancy
