I have a confession to make. I am buying both the Ruger's 5.56 and an A/O M1 Carbine. I have 5 .30 round magazines for the M1 and will be ordering more for the Ruger AR 5.56. (their version of the Modern Sporting Rifle).
I'll wind up "fluffing and buffing" the A/O Carbine to make it work well. I'm looking forward to shooting both.
Thanks to all.

I have read your above post now three times. I can't peck out the proper words on my keyboard that will express what I've learned after reading your post. It would take lots of searching and time.
Being new to the M1 Carbine world your post was an education. You have probably forgotten more about the gun than I'll ever be able to learn.
I've archived your post and will certainly be reviewing it often.
Again, thank you for taking the time and effort to share your experience.
