Inland sn ending with an X

I came across an Inland with an SN of 943111 followed with an X is this something I should grab? Other then that it was an unremarkable repark mixmaster.

Was the X before or after the serial number block?

woof,

An x after the serial number means that this is a Saginaw subcontract overun with a possible duplicate serial number.

I might have to wander over to Wah's shop.

At that price, grab it fast! SG subcontract receivers are a desireable variant of Inland. Plus you have one of the rare X suffix serials. There are not many of those. The price would be fair for any USGI carbine these days, let alone a scarce variant!

My wife told me I couldn't buy the carbine.

She said if I bought it she would be hard pressed to find me an anniversary gift.

So I guess this means she will be picking it up for me. Boy it’s tough being married to this woman.

Sounds like the X Carbine isn't the only scarce desirable variant you have around the house.

Woof,

I talked to her this morning and told her that X meant it was a reject.

John,

That reject is now resting comfortably in my safe Right between the Winchester and Saginaw carbines and across from the 1941 Johnson So sorry to disappoint you

Just to let everyone else in on this. Everytime I take the 1941 Johnson out to the club John is either leaving or not there that day. So I just have to twist that knife. Wouldn't you?

I'm glad it has a good home Rob. I've got a really full plate for the next few weeks leading up to Camp Perry and then - - right after Perry I go in to get a new hip - . It will be awhile before I'm shooting after that. My surgeon is a shooter and he tells me nothing but X's after the operation.
