CMP carbine...range report

Took out the Inland I got last week and shot it @100 yds. off the bench. It grouped 4.5 inches for 5 rounds using Winchester white box 110 fmj. The front sight had been cut on a left slant, didn't notice it until firing, a couple passes with the medium fine stone leveled it out. The rear was calibrated dead-on, at the 100 notch and windage was centered. Shot the Garand with some LC 68, five shots there went into 3 inches, it does a little better with danish ammo. Maybe try some different loads for the carbine, fun little plinker , but not giving up the Garand anytime soon. carbine , like the Garand an excellent value from CMP.

Glad to hear it! I have a conservative Inland...shoots to the right. Think I'm gonna have to put another barrel on it or, find a thick sapling with a low fork!!!

white box does pretty good for me. Its just not really easy to find around here. if you can find PMC, that'd probably work out well for ya. And if you decide to try S&B, treat it as corrosive.

Mine certainly liked the LC I was using. 100 yd 3 inch groups off the bench.

Jimb, what lots of LC should we be looking for? I have a chance to pick up some LC45, but it's 60 plus years old and while the current owner keeps it stored inside, I don't know how it was previuosly kept.

I just grab whatever I can find. I think this last batch was from the early 50s. That's the problem though. You never know how well it was stored.

Just got 1,000 rounds of LC 69 in an ammo can, half of which was on stripper clips for $275. How'd I do?

That is a decent price for good ammo. Wish I could find it like that around here. I had to get the Aguila that CMP is selling. Haven't had time to test it yet. I'll let you guys know how it compares as soon as I get the chance to test some of it.

My CMP carbine is hitting round 3 inch targets at 50 yards with no problem. I was very surprised and Im happy with it.

My Carbine is doing under 3" @ 100 yards, I was shocked, but after 100 rounds, and three good shooters, it is proving quite accurate.

Thank you CMP

My "shooter" was grouping right around 3 inches off a sandbag at 100 too. I was using LC ammo. Seemed pretty consistent. Some carbines are quite good shooters.
