| Who made my Inlands Stock?
In case any of you are wondering who made your Inland Stockset; 2) In 1941, Overton was awarded a contract to be the prime stock contractor to the Inland Division of General Motors. During the war Overton delivered over three million M1 carbine stock assemblies. At the end of the war, Overton's outstanding performance was recognized by the receipt of the Army-Navy production award. The combination of Overton's production knowledge and outstanding performance as a government contractor allowed the company to become a principal post war period manufacturer of replacement stock assemblies. Overton produced large quantities of both M1 rifle and carbine replacement stock assemblies Yes, that's the S.E.Overton Co.
