I have had a carbine case for more years than I can remember ("Rice O'Neill Shoe Co. 1944").
Several years ago I ordered one of the "repros" for the Garand (As I understand it no such case was ever made to fill a government contract). The fabric on the carbine case is at least twice the quality of the Garand case, as is the stitching and the leather. If the repro carbine case is built like the one for the Garand, it must be pretty flimsy. But I'm sure it's better than no case at all.
