$200.00 M1 CARBINE SLING WWII 1943...

Maybe I should have held onto those 25 mint-unissued slings I sold off last year? Auction says "1943"? Sling is not dated, wonder where that information came from, as I believe these were 1944 manufacture, too?

The description is incorrect. It is an I.B.M. marked sling. Well worth the price paid.

Somebody knew what the seller didn't.

Whew!!! IBM marked slings are going for over $200.00 , today?? Yikes!!!! I am surprised the market is not flooded today, with bogus copies??? And to think.... I sold off, all those mint-unissued OD "C" Tip babies I had in my collection last year for about $35.00 - $45.00 a pop. Some were dated, too. One, matter of fact, now that I can recall, was a faded IBM marked specimen. Day early.... and...boo-koo $$$$ short, again! I gotta' laugh this one off, I'll try anyway!

Marine1....prophetic...it will happen...all of a sudden some guy in CA will have 100 mint unissued IBM slings that were found in a warehouse in new york during a condo resoration of a warehouse.

that's not too funny really....it will happen the way things are going.

IBM marked slings are not very plentiful. If I recall IBM used both outside contracted slings and those made in-house. I suspect the slings made inside the facility are those with IBM markings.

I concur Bill, From the research I done, quite a few years ago on the old IBM Plant, they did use both outside and inner contracted sling specimens. One of my former MCCA members had quite a bit of documentation and specialized on the IBM Plant. He also said he has some documentation, from old IBM plant records, about a complete Auto Ordnance assembled carbine, that Auto Ordnance assembled, for a possible carbine Ordnance Contract, which never materalized. Never did get the full story on this subject.
