| TISAS upgraded "DUTY" MODEL 1911A
Friends, I'm considering a TISAS "Duty" pistol in .45ACP from an online vendor. (I'm told that those are NICE & I can afford to buy that one. The reviews say that they are equivalent to a lot of 1500 -2000.oo US-made pistols in quality.) Anybody here have any actual experience with that particular SA handgun?? (Tisa's recreated GI 1911A1 model is NICE & shoots FINE, imo.) yours, sw |

I just bought the Tisas 1911a1 US Army model and think it's an OK weapon. I see they have the Service, Duty, and other ones listed.... I think there the same guns with different names, finishes etc. I don't think you can go wrong by buying one. I've put about 100 rounds thru mine without a hitch. All the Turkish 1911's I have seen have been nice guns. I haven't taken one apart, but they do appear to be built well. Not the equivalent of a $1,500+ 1911, but to my eye they look nicer than the RIA's and RIA's have proven to be pretty good pistols.

I think the Turks occupy the high end of the value spectrum in firearms right now. They produce guns of very high quality at very reasonable prices. It almost seems like they took a look at Taurus and thought, "We can do better." I have two Caniks that I'm extremely pleased with. The quality is outstanding, they'll out-shoot most of the 9mm's that show up at our range, and I don't have $800 invested in the pair. |
