I bought a new Kahr (Auto-Ord) .45 and cannot for the life of me get it to feed properly. Seems it jams about every 4-5th round. Mostly stovepipe jams, but some failure to feed. I've tried different mags and plain ball ammo, but doesn't work. I know from "word of mouth" on various forums that Kahr products are not all they're cracked up to be. Can anyone suggest what may fix it? I've thought that perhaps the feed ramp needs poished/deburred...but have no idea how to do that. I live in the Southern Kalifornia area if anyone knows of a reputable gunsmith who does .45 work. Thanks....

Your best option is to return it to Kahr. They have an excellent reputation of correcting problems.
For one thing, no local gunsmith is going to know more about it than Kahr. Kahr will KNOW what needs to be done, and they'll do it with no charge to you.
The "word of mouth" on the forums is BS.
Kahr has an excellent reputation, and what problems they do have are almost all confined to the polymer models.
As with everything, you only hear about the guns that have problems. You never hear about the majority that don't.
In any event, don't take chances with locals, send the gun back to Kahr for a proper fix.

Odd thing with my Kahr P45. Repeated malfs, until about two mags short of that magic 200 round break-in point Kahr talks about, at which time the problems disappeared. Gun has run 100% for several hundred rounds since. Go figure...
