Stag Arms to leave Connecticut for Wyoming

I wonder if this will get attention in Connecticut's halls of Governance?

Stag Arms is leaving their current location in the state and moving their shop to Wyoming.

Given the talk I and some others have occasionally engaged in on here, regarding another Connecticut-based gunmaker and other states which have tried to woo them away, I figured I would post this one.

Good luck to Stag Arms in their new home, but I hope the workers are OK - It is a tough hike to make for them if they are going with their company.

Damn! Texas missed a chance.

csmkersh,

Personally, I'd like to see SIG-SAUER, REMINGTON & S&W move here to TX.

I'd like to see any gun maker in Yankeeland move to Texas.

Doughboy 11-18-2019 07:01 PM

csmkersh,

Personally, I'd like to see ALL of the gunmakers move out of every ANTI-GUN and/or "PC" city/state.

yours, sw

If Governor Coonman Northam gets his legislation my Stag AR may have to leave the state.

Doughboy 11-19-2019 04:28 AM

WaltGraham,

And you will be leaving with it??

yours, sw

Hopefully some of President Trump's judicial appointees will have something to say about that.

Just don't go through Maryland on your way West. Yeah, I know. You can drop down into Kentucky and then go West, young man.

The little secret of these North-East states is that they couldn't possibly care less if even a major gun maker leaves the state. They figure "Good riddance".

Back in the 80's when Colt was going bankrupt the United Auto Workers Union threw a fit and demanded that Connecticut prevent Colt from folding and loosing the jobs.
So the state and the UAW invested money into Colt to keep it in business.
Both also as partial owners made demands on Colt about selling AR rifles and Colt had to make ban-type ARs for a couple of years.
Had it not been for the UAW Connecticut would have cheerfully watched as Colt folded.

What you need to understand is, for the left, SJW goals outweigh ANYTHING.
That a number of people loose jobs and the state looses some tax revenue is totally unimportant if they can get what they want.
They figure the workers can find something else less offensive then making guns, and the state will not miss the money.
So, if they can force a politically incorrect business out, that's wonderful, they just purged the state of a monstrous business.

I'm not going to panic until I see what actually passes.

WaltGraham,

UNDERSTOOD. - I came VERY NEAR to buying GEN A.P. Hill's, late of the CSA, family home in 2007 & am NOW glad that I did not.

I don't do well with being governed by LEFTIST RADICALS, like those who seem to be taking over The Old Dominion.
(VERY different Commonwealth of VA now, than when I lived there until 2010. = My brother-of-the-heart sold everything in FFX County in the Summer of 2009 & moved to WV, as he saw "the handwriting on the wall" more clearly than I did.)

yours, sw

Like Illinois and New York, Virginia is, for the most part, a fairly conservative state where the politics are dominated by a single, huge urban center...in Virginia's case, the northern Virginia suburbs of DC. Government workers are no fans of "Drain the Swamp" Trump, and Fairfax County is infested with them. Charlottesville (home to UVA) also contributes it's share of lefty lunacy, but the rest of the state is pretty level-headed.

I have a lot of respect for the Old Dominion. It's sad to watch the recent developments, and to realize that the disease could easily metastasize down here to North Carolina.

csmkersh 11-20-2019 05:34 AM

CaptainGyro is correct about the DC idiots in Northern Virginia. Sad to say, my middle son is one of those idiots as is his wife. While Mark has surprised me with his owning guns and hunting, his politics is left of center. :(

I would suspect the ruling about Sandy Hook was the nail in the coffin for Stag Arms get out while you can! ;) Kevin

Javlin,

What I wonder is WHY the gunmakers have NOT all left CT & every other ANTI-GUN state.

The unions have stood in the way of their moving.

William R. Moore 11-22-2019 04:00 PM

Actually, VA has several centers of socialists. Northern VA, and it's spreading south, Richmond and the Norfolk area. I happen to live in a rural area triangulated by several centers of socialist indoctrination masked as universities. Then there are also the yellow dog democrats. They'd vote for a yellow dog before voting for any other party.

CaptainGyro 11-23-2019 05:23 AM

I'd definitely agree with the Richmond area, but at least in the Norfolk-Hampton-Chesapeake-Virginia Beach area the left is balanced by the strong military presence and the huge number of military retirees. In that sense, the area has a lot in common with San Antonio.

William R. Moore 11-23-2019 01:46 PM

The military presence doesn't seem to be making much impact in Hampton/Norfolk/etc judging by election returns.

I expect a lot of those areas are like Chicago: even if you move or die your vote will still be counted.
