Question AMBIDEXTROUS SAFETY for the IMI JERICHO 941??

Friends,

I've been looking at the IMI Jericho 941F Israeli Police surplus pistols in 9x19mm, in GOOD or better (349.oo) to "near mint" (369.oo) condition.

Do any of you KNOW who, if anyone, sells an ambidextrous safety for the Jericho 941??
(Despite the fact that IMI made 941F pistols with the AMBI safety, so far the vender has found none in the portion of their large shipment that has been unpacked.)

yours, sw

These were made with some parts and assistance from Tanfoglio of Italy, the maker of the EAA Witness models.
Tanfoglio helped most makers of CZ-75 type guns set up production and supplied parts. The earlier Jericho used most all raw parts supplied by Tanfoglio, later Jericho made the major components but still used some Tanfoglio small parts.

Depending on what type of safety the Jericho uses a Tanfoglio-EAA safety should work.
EAA sells several styles of ambi safeties. These will be the type with a spring and plunger in the safety shaft that works with a hole though the frame.

I would think that EAA may be able to supply the older type of safety also.

There were several types of these Tanfoglio safeties.
The first type used the same system as the earlier CZ75. These are ID'd by a tiny hole in the left side of the safety. That hole was used to assemble and disassemble the unit.
These are difficult to work with due to the tiny spring and flat pointed plate that gives it the "snap" as it is applied.

The second type used a shallow machined recess in the frame under the safety with a spring and detent. This is is much easier to work with.

The last type has a hole machined through the left side of the frame and a spring loaded plunger in the safety shaft.
With the slide off you can see this plunger and the hole in the frame from inside the frame.

The first step is to figure out which system your specific model uses.
Once you know that you can try to buy that type of ambi safety from EAA.
The word from CZ-USA is that no parts from the CZ guns will fit the Tanfoglio and versions of the Tanfoglio guns like the Jericho.

William R. Moore,

I think 2-3 extra magazines should be enough for me.
