Bianchi made a harness for the holster which could be rigged left of right handed. I managed to get the holster and harness and carried my 1911 in it all over the battle box in Northern Germany. Ran into Gen. Cherry and he wanted to know how I managed since the holsters weren't in the supply chain. I just grinned and tapped my CSM strips. He laughed.

For its day it was a decent holster. I had one for my Taurus PT92.

I have just about all the bits for the UM84 holster system. For a holster whose main purpose is to protect the pistol, it's a great setup. Now that speed is king, it's considered outdated.

On as side note, it's entertaining to follow the arguments on the Blackhawk Serpa (once the cat's meow) vs the Safariland ALS.
