Traveling to Canada...want to bring back 2 shotguns...

Hi all,
I'm new to this forum and am hoping for some imput on getting my 2 shotguns from Canada (where I'm from) to Colorado.
I read some good info about mail/shipping firearms from this forum.
I am planning a trip to Canada in Aug. and want to know the procedure for crossing from Canada to USA with 2 shotguns in my car. Is it possible? I'd love to save the $$ on shipping plus all the hasle of filling out forms etc.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Daniel

Now Dean.... That wasn't a nice thing to do to welcome a new Member. While I agree with what you said (i.e. Want relevant advice on this? Contact the proper officials! ) you could at least have pointed him in the correct direction.

Maybe even provide a LINK or something for him to follow and start him on his search.

At least that is what I would have tried to do if this thread wasn't already locked.

But Schmit, you goof, he wants to bring two shotguns from Canada here, not the other way around!

It's never a good idea, even on a Forum with the credentials and track record of this one, to rely on "casual information" where the consequences could be incarceration or at the very least, confiscation of "contraband."

But Dean, I read it as he is traveling TO Canada, will come into possession of two Shotguns which he wants to return to the US with. So he will have to comply with Canadian Firearms Laws (hence the above link).

Now, your right (as usual) when he brings them back he will have to conform to US Laws. Info on this can be somewhat found at the U.S. Customs & Border Protection website.

As I have previously done when transportating firearms btwn the US and our Northern most bordering Country, would contact both germain agencies and talk to a real person and perhaps, even, get something in writing/print from them... (Border Agents can something not know exactly what is/isn't allowed)
