Does anyone read SoF any more?
Geoff
Who gave up on it when they claimed winning art awards was vastly more important than the reader actually reading the text! (Brown text on a color picture of a jet low in desert country.)

Given the longstanding presence of black-gun-grabbing FUDD Joaquin Jackson on the NRA BOD and the extreme measures to ensure another Knox Revolt never happens, does anyone still really think the vote on this one matters anymore?

I don't vote for anyone the nominating committee selects, unless I have a very good reason. I vote for everyone else, unless I have a very good reason.

Is there a roster someplace that any of you would recommend?

I thought I was the only one that couldn't stand Joaquin Jackson. I hate to say it but he's a Texan and former Ranger. Dean and my very close friend Jim Nicholson, now deceased, were there when the Knox Revolt took place. La Phew never forgave or forgot.

he should move to KANADA where we have those restrictions- 5 for rifle, 10 for pistol- can u GUARENTEE that you're going to NEED only one shot when hunting- ie if tyiy're any good?- here the f* does he get off telling me what- the reason we have those restrictions in Canada is b/c some arab frawg got loose in montreal with an improperly modified mini (gag) 14 and shot a bunch of women- now look at the mess we've got- he's a Texan by accident of birth not spirit
I didn't realize he had passed- I don't generally take note of what happens south of the border

csmkersh,

Well, the old Ranger just lost my vote. = The Second Amendment is NOT about hunting, unless you mean hunting enemies of The Constitution, both foreign & domestic.

The ONE time that I ever actually NEEDED a firearm for farm defense, I would have liked to have had something better than my old shotgun, as I was facing 4 "drugged-up" criminals, who were threatening that "if you don't open the door & let us in, we'll burn your *** out."
(The local county patrol's Lieutenant later told me that they HAD 2 "Molotov cocktails", 4 rifles & a .32ACP pistol & had the SO's officers NOT arrived when they did, that he was SURE that they WOULD have thrown them onto the roof or against the wall of the farmhouse.)

ADDENDA: The day after my "long night of fear", I went to a local gun-shop & bought a Ruger stainless Mini 14, 4 20-round magazines. & 100 rounds of 5.56NATO ammo

As it was NOT hunting season, don't ask me why that I went back to the townhouse & picked up my shotgun & a container of shells. - Just LUCKY, I'd guess.
(From the time that I called 9-1-1, it took the first SD vehicle over 35 minutes to arrive. = It SEEMED like at least 35 years, too.)

yours, sw

Unfortunately, as long as sorts like Dave Workman at SAF are willing to treat "fair-weather friends" like Jackson the same as real, consistent allies... I generally respect Dave, I just think he's a tad misguided about the threat presented by a lurking Enemy Within.

stand watie:

Neither of us need worry about voting for Jackson as he died at his home in Alpine, Texas on June 15, 2016. .

csmkersh,

THANKS for telling me. = I've spent so much time at the hospital & rehab centers with my beloved over the last 2 years that I've "missed a lot" & have been on this site only "sometimes".

yours, satx
