day/night vision mounting?

what kind of mount/ring setup does the army use to enable them to switch between day and night optics on the m24 ? do they have to re-zero, surely not. the pvs 10 supposedly has a mildot reticle.

also, ive seen night vision devices that adapt to an existing scope such as a Mark IV that gives the scope night vision ability. it was mounted on the ocular so it looked like you had to keep your head even futher back on the stock. anybody familiar with these

This MonoLoc adapter could be what you're thinking of for use with an existing scope or sight.
