Trijicon Reflex sight

Does anyone on this board use a Trijicon Reflex sight? It appears to be the same "eyes open" type of sight as the Eo Tech, et al, which allows for peripheral vision, quick target acquisition and long eye relief. Additionally, its illumination comes from light gathering fiber optics and tritium. Seems to me to be a good combination, but I haven't any experience with it. Thanks, Randy

Have one but haven't used it seems like a good piece of gear. The EOtech is also nice and has different brightness levels while the Trijicon has no batteries to worry about.

I've been using the ACOG TA31F most of the time and I like it.

The reflex has been fading in popularity due to wash out issues. The tritium cannot stand on its own and depends on external light gathering to boost the intensity during daytime.

For example, stand inside a darkened building and look outside at a fully illuminated target. The dot contrast will be poor against the target area.

Also, reflex sights need coatings to reflect the dot color, so the change the color of what you are looking at. The yellow are the worst, as they knock out the middle of the color spectrum.

CT, thanks for the information. You've kept me from a costly mistake. Randy

We have them on our AR'S that we keep in our patrol cars. Works great for what we use them for. I could see people saying that there is a washout problem with them, but I haven't experienced that yet.

We use them on M4's and I expected washout in daylight. Hasn't happened. Price on the gadget to eliminate reflection from the front of the sight assembly is outrageous. Black duct tape would probably work.
