Home made stock stains.

I've been messing around with some alcohol based, home made stock stain. Been trying to get a nice reddish-brown. Pics were taken inside with flash.

The neat thing about alcohol based stains is that:
they dry almost instantly,
if too light just add more,
if too dark just wipe down with alcohol,
it doesn't seem to raise the grain at all.

What do you think of the color? Too red? I think I like it.

Some dry powder clothing dyes, mixed with denatured alcohol.

Johnny Reb-
Incredible! Very nice! Just enough red for the contrast.
Outstanding job!

JohnnyReb, That has to be, by far, one of the
nicest looking stock colors I ahve seen.

I wouldn't change it.
