| Shoulder stock for 1860 Colt Army
I have a Uberti Colt 1860 Army revolver. I want a replica shoulder stock for it. Where does one find these? Thanks

I would check with Uberti. With the shoulder stock, you will need a different hammer screw to accomodate, so don't forget to order that with your shoulder stock. Also, on the butt of the grip toward the rear, there should be a notch cut, if not, you'll need to have one cut to accomodate.

You should not need a different hammer screw with the Colt 1860 Army if it is the 4 screw military version, which is designed for the stock. Try http://www.vtigunparts.com they sell Uberti parts and may be able to help. Keep in mind it will likely require a slight amount of fitting, as did mine (though mine was Pietta.). If your 1860 Army is the civilian version, I don't know what to advise you to do. An easy way to tell is the military version has two thick screw heads on both sides below the recoil shield that have no obvious purpose, and the recoil shield at the bottom is cut for the tip of the stock. The heel of the grip has a slot milled into the steel strap which fits the locking mechanism, as well. |

Listen to Tommy, I mis-remembered. Now that I read Tommy's post, I see more clearly. Thanks Tommy.

| Uberti 1860 Army
My Uberti has the frame studs and cutout on bottom of grip frame. Thanks to all who responded. I have found the shoulder stocks priced at $180 to be too expensive, so I will search for one that somebody wants to sell for far less.

Try Dixie Gun Works in Tennessee or EMF (Early & Modern Firearms) Corp in Santa Ana California.

I am looking at purchasing a Colt 1860 this weekend and am looking for tell-tale markings and/or characteristics that confirm it is an original. Can anyone on this page tell me what they are? I hear there are Colt books out there that can help confirm this. Anyone have one they want to sell? Thank you!
