No Class3 Needed??

Im a collector of all things GI. Like many Iwould like an old Tommy and a Reising and Ma Duece etc etc etc..... I always thought the Class 3 was mandatory for such Fun Guns.

Still waiting to hit the FL Lotto so I can afford all these treasures but what DO you need for a average Joe to own any/all of these??

Individual civilian ownership of NFA items requires BATFE paperwork, local CLEO signoff on the same, a background check, and payment of a transfer tax for each item.

A Class 3 license is specifically for dealers of NFA items. (Class 1 is for Import/Export of NFA items, and Class 2 is for manufacturers of NFA items.)

Hey Cal30,

Nice to see a local around here.

Your CLEO in Manatee county wont sign off on those items, so you will need to look into either a Corp or Trust to acquire such items.

Go check out Heavy Metal Armory in town and ask for Drew, he'll set ya straight.

the state may love em.. but individual leos may not just like in areas where the local dude may not like concealed carry. as far as needin to do t he class 3 song and dance for those guns of course you do. it would be nice if all ya needed was your c&r since they are old enough but that ain't how it works

Florida by far is a great MG friendly state, however there are some hoops to be jumped through.

have a lawyer draft a revocable trust, then put those items you intend to purchase on it... thats pretty much how its done down here... (in short... very short)

2 feet or two blocks, your in the county. So you will need to pay a visit to him, or bypass him with the methods I had suggested.
