I know that over the years the military has deemed several brands of magazines to be "defective" for one reason or another and taken them out of service. Does anyone have a list of the ones to be avoided? With the influx of cheap mags I want to stock up(while we still can :?: ) but don't want to get out of spec stuff. I know to avoid most non-USGI like the black plauge but am concerned about the USGI ones. Thanks in advance. T.J. Robertson

OK, the Mil surplus so far are the best. These are the ones that are green finished and are aluminum, ether black (older) or green (new anti-jam, teflon thingy, never had any problems jaming with black). I have bought some Isreali (I can't spell) Orlite mags that where refubished from Kiesler's Wholesale out of the shotgun news and they where junk. Cracked lips at the top.

At how cheap the new Military AR/m-16 mags starting at 13 bucks out of the Shotgun News.

Okay, adventurland, parsons, LaBelle, and of course those labled Colt and BMI are good.

With some thought, I'll add to the list..

Best,
