Someone over on glock talk posted this earlier. I'm hoping this means the brass will become available again, I've always wanted to try this caliber, instead of .400 cor-bon.

Harley ---

Just as I posted to WalterGA on GT, there is a good chance that Precision Ammo used brass they got when they purchased the assets of the former Triton --- if you need/want Triton Factory .40 Super ammo, contact me --- I bought all that they had in stock when they liquidated finished ammo onhand --- and needless to say, my price is alot better than what Lone Wolf is charging for their .40 super!

Thanks for the reply I mainly want the brass. I haven't decided to jump on the bandwagon yet as I'm not to sure how a 1911 will handle this stuff. If I reload for it the hotest I might go is a 200gr at 1200 fps for use on hogs since that is all I seem to hunt any more and I'm bored with my .45 (but not my new 9x23)

It appears to be much more complicated than has been reported. Precision Ammo may be dumping .40 Super ammunition and/or brass, but they never started to produce the ammo. The ammo must be leftover from the original Triton or from the last days of the "new" Triton.

Word from American Ammunition is they are the ones that are going to be offering Triton Quik-Shok and Hi-Vel. Somehow the folks at Precision and the previous owners of Triton had a falling out and the Triton gang went back to American Ammunition.

The ironic thing is the previous owners of Triton will now be handling the fund raising for American Ammo. All this reminds me of a Joe Isuzu commercial.

Fernando,

That makes sense because if you remember back at Shot 03 in Orlando, Dave Sevigny commented that there was quite a bit of loose ammo at Triton that had not been inspected and/or boxed. I personally bought every round of boxed/cased .40 Super that was there.

Actaully, Lone Wolf does not have the ammo in hand, they are advertising ammo that they have coming in. I talked to the head guy at Lone Wolf and he told me that Precision had gotten about 15,000 .40 Super brass in -- and that they are loading them on a Dillon -- and that he had sent them a couple of barrels to do pressure testing with.

Fernando ---

That is just what I said to the guy from Lone Wolf!!!!

And, I told him to be careful that they do not send any of the untested ammo that was loose and had not gone through QC --- heck, after Sevigny left, lord knows who did any loading and what they loaded -- knowing the Voluto guys ---- I would shy away!! FAR FAR away!!

There has been alot of discussion on this subject (American Ammo/Triton) on a couple of other boards --- so I E-Mailed Tom Burczynski asking him if he was going to have any involvement. Got this reply:

To my knowledge, American Ammunition has NOT purchased the assets of Triton. I am not affiliated with American Ammunition. Where did you hear that assets were purchased?

Tom
I sent Tom a reply with the link to American Ammunitions press release from February.

Tom's reply to my sending him the link to AA's Press Release:

I did see this press release a couple months ago but this is an old one which only refers to a letter of intent. To my knowledge nothing has been signed with American or any other company.

It is my understanding that American Ammunition is partnering with IMI and is marketing their ammunition in the U.S. IMI makes good ammo loaded with conventionally jacketed bullets. For years, American only produced / marketed ammunition loaded with thin-plated cast bullets. It's actually quite difficult to produce substandard ammunition when using conventionally-jacketed bullets, the right powder, and a plate loader.

As you know, Quik-Shok utilizes conventional a jacket. With that said, it would be a shame if Quik-Shok was never marketed again as I feel it's still the most devastating round extant.

Twas my mistake in not asking him in advance  --- I know what my teacher used to preach about ASSUME ---- and since there was not anything secret or inflametory in his reply I ASSUMED it would be ok to pass on his info to set the record straight.
