M118 from CMP vs port

Ya i know, apples and oranges. Anyone try the m118 that CMP has (or had?)
I rarely shoot past 600, even with my bolt gun, but now that i want to try ringing those evil metal pigs at 800 or 900yds, im going to need something a little better than portuguese.

Looks like you can get a case of 960rnds for $400 and change, not bad compared to Federal match prices...

Ive been on a spending spree lately, so why not

Which M118? Old M118 with the 173-gr "M72" bullet from the '06 days, or new M118LR with the 175 Sierra?

LR is much better, accuracy of the M852 load with the 1,000-yard capabilities of the M118.

The CMP sells the M118LR with the 175gr SMK bullet.

I've not used it but I don't see why it wouldn't be equal to Federal's GMM 175.
