Some 9x18 Mak published data: http://data.hodgdon.com/main_menu.asp http://www.makarov.com/mak04.html http://members.nuvox.net/~on.melchar/makarov/index.html http://www.handloads.org/loaddata/defau ... er&Source= http://www.reloadingroom.com/page32.html These are just off of the top of my head... er... browser, as it were. ![]() You can also join the Makarov list on Yahoo Groups (I've been a member for several years) and post a request for data from the membership. There are several reloaders on the list that have reloaded the 9x18mm quite a bit, and know several tips and tricks. Good luck |

I got a set of dies before Christmas but haven't made the time to try them out yet. I also have a .22 conversion kit for my Mak that I haven't tried out yet either. I have a lot of catching up to do! I've been on the Makarov.com yahoo list for a couple years also. There is some good info available there as niesse has already said. |

| Retmsgt. Have you settled on a load yet?
I'm getting ready to setup the 9x18 dies and I was wondering if you had a chance to try out any loads? Ed |

Not yet Ed, I've found a plentiful source for Wolf 9x18 JHPs at $8.35 a box for practice and I use the 70 gr.POWR-Ball for a carry load. I just bought a set of dies. Having trouble finding a good source for those oddball cal. bullets, .363?

I'm not familiar with a Bersa in 9x18. As far as the "preferred one" well that's a matter of personal taste, I guess. I have an E.G. MAK (single stack) and a CZ83 (double stack). The E.G.'s are usually the preferred model of Makarov although the Chinese is probably the rarest for collectors.

IIRC - The one I'm thinking of had a semi - pointed or "hooked"trigger guard (presumeably for easier takedown / reassembly) similar to some of the older S & W Pistols. IIRC #2 One of the Mak. aficionados featured one on his home page. Quite a bit different than the traditional and PPK - like frames. Oh well ! ![]() forgive my ignorant terminology here (above) Quote:
Speer mfgrs. a few bullets for that caliber. They also include load data. | |
