Should I use surplus ammo or reload for the Swiss 7.5?

I am getting ready to make my birthday order from Midway. I thought about buying a couple cases of the Swiss surplus ammo. I also thought about buying the dies and start reloading. The brass that is available is very expensive. I know brass would last a long time fired in this rifle, but it is still pretty pricey.

I won't be shooting this rifle a lot. What would you recommend, shooting the surplus ammo or reloading? What would be a better use of my money in this situation?

Buy the components, hands down. Two cases of ammo will run you approx. $400. You'll be able to buy plenty of brass, powder and bullets for that and you can load them exactly how you want to. You don't have to get beat to death shooting the Swiss loaded stuff. Having said that, you'll be very impressed with the way the Swiss stuff shoots, so I'd get one case just to try out and then put it up and shoot your handloads. Simp

the brass is not expensive. you don't have to buy the norma brass at all. you can buy FNM from Coles, shoot it, and have the brass to reload, or you can use 284 winchester brass to load.

Bluesteelnwood, I agree with you. I am not sure if I want to get started in reloading for this gun because I won't shoot it that much. I will mostly be shooting my M1A and Savage tactical bolt gun, that both shoot .308. I hear that the Swiss surplus ammo is good stuff. I am going to order at least one case. Right now I can get it from Midway for the birthday price of $157.49 for a 480-round case.
