Turret press

I'm saving up for reloading equipment, I was planning on a RCBS RockChucker, but I've seen a few turret presses The Redding T7 to be exact that look like a big time saver. Any suggestions?

You're assuming that Majik wants volume. Maybe so, but maybe a Dillon isn't what he needs.

FWIW: I use the Redding turret for all the centerfire rifle stuff I load and also some handgun stuff that is relatively low volume like the .460 or .500 S&W. The idea of being able to leave several sets of dies on the press and simply change shell holders is very convenient.

I use a "O" frame press for rifle and a turret press for pistol. Like Charlie said "The idea of being able to leave several sets of dies on the press and simply change shell holders is very convenient." I have 5 spare turrets. That's 10 different calibers that takes less than a minute to change from one to the other. These load fast enough for me. If you need a lot of ammo quick, get a progressive.

Turret presses are nice to use. If price is not too much of a consideration, then go for the Turret. As Charlie said, it's awfully convenient to have a few dies on the press.

I do the vast majority of my reloading on progressive presses and I have several of them. Since my little RCBS JR has never failed me over the past 20 years (it was probably 20+ years old when I bought it), I've never seen fit to replace it. I have about as much money tied up in reloading equipment as I do guns, and the homely RCBS JR has become somewhat of a joke because it's so out dated, but it still does the job quite well. If I ever do replace it, I'll replace it with a Turret press, you can be sure of that.
