12 guage metior signals
I just picked up a box of 12 gauge "meteor signals" at an auction. The box says Kilgore Corporation, but the head stamp on the shells is Remington. Peters 12 gauge. They measure 1 7/16 inches long. the Date ? 07/09/ Lot 129.
I have not tried one yet, as I was the only one to bid they were very cheap.
I have a couple of 20 inch barreled Mod 12's that ride in ranch pickups that became shorter barreled thanks to snow or mud before they became mine.
If these are what the box says, I figured they just may come in handy some day when we are working in remote places, I also carry one of the Mod 12's in a saddle scabbard.
Any thoughts or knowledge to be shared will be welcome.

I've heard of them and it seems to me there was also a flare pistol.
It would not be unusual if the company bought primed cases from Remington and then modified and loaded them for their purpose.

i think that that is the same "specialty ammo loader" who makes a "shark killer" on that same case for "bang sticks".
be really careful shooting them in dry weather, as the "meteors" that we had when i was in the army were really good at starting fires.
