I know I'm probably hoping for the impossible, but it would be crazy not to ask. I'm helping a friend rebuild his original trench gun. We need an original magazine tube. Is there any hope?
NUMRICH is the only thing I would sugguest, maybe check out E-bay. but for a original I would figure it will be big money.........I don't even know if they even make new production mag tubes for the 97, but if they do that will probably be his best bet.
I just check my NUMRICH catlaog for shits and giggles, and for lack of anything else happening right now, and NUMRICH does have a mag tube for the 97 WINCHESTER shotgun, it's not a orignal but patterned after the original one, 70 bucks. item 251770
Someone recently parted out a '97 Trench gun on Ebay. They did offer the tube, but I don't recall what it went for. The somewhat battered shield/bayo mnt went for over $140 and the barrel for only slightly less.
Gun parts lists the tube as available for $69.95, is a original worth a 130% premium on a gun that's still a clone anyway? That's a 100% personal decision. The only guy whose opinion is right is the guy who'se wallet is opening. To me it wasn't, I stopped bidding on the shield when it when over the cost of a replacement.
what you will have is still a put together clone, that isn't going to be real, or a collector's military gun...... with NUMRICH selling replacement tubes, and the sheild/bayonet for 105 bucks. that would be the way to go, but like BuffaloGun, just depends on the person.
