Just added a Model 12 Trench Gun to the collection. Used, but excellent condition, probably 95% but we'll call it 90% to be safe. Looks like storage and handling wear only. SCHWING!
I've got several M12's but they are all sporters. What sort of price range are you looking at when you go short? Also, how many rounds can you stuff in the tube?
You know, I've never put any ammo in it and I'm not sure of the factory spec on capacity. I never intend to shoot it except under duress (it's a 2 3/4 only chamber). I have a 590 that's the home defense weapon. This one's just for show. Maybe one of the more learned forum members can comment on the capacity. A 95% M12 Trench Gun Blue Books in the $3000 range.
Geezzz, I don't have any $3000.00 guns. But then again, I don't have anything that I do not shoot. Different strokes I guess. I still want one but I may find a trashed out one on GunBroker and "create" a trench gun out of it. Plenty of places offer repro parts.
I have lots I don't shoot. All are capable of being shot, but in consideration of value preservation I prefer not to. Ever see a $9K deer rifle? You have now. The topmost rifle is a USMC M1952. Very rare, and I shoot it!
$3000 guns?! Well I have a few that I shoot. I've got a nice M12 Winchester that I reload brass shells for, and a Johnson SAR. Then there is the BAR....What's the point of having them if you can't enjoy them?
