Interesting. Looks like the Navy is present. What's the guy doing in that last picture? Can't be sure due to the angle, but looks like he's trying to eat some dirt with moves like that.

Navy is there. He is cool-arrow on azshooting.com. The young soldier pictured is moving from a standing to a sitting drill. Everyone in this class had at least one tour of Iraq, most two. This soldier will be part of Mas Ayoob's May class in Sierra Vista. He will then deploy again.
My next class could be as soon as next week and we will have 6 Combat Medics in it as they are deploying within the month.

This pic was taken early in the training and has the soldiers doing a dry fire drill using Mas Ayoob's Stressfire sight picture. It also shows a good view of Officer John Hansen's target that has a great marking of bleed spots.
You can also see the beautiful Huachuca's from Range 3.

Here is a pic of one of the Senior NCO's who turned out to be almost as agile as his ancient instructor.

Re: going to give free handgun instruction at Ft. Huachuca

Ah! Thanks for the explanation. I have to admit that I've never seen a standing to sitting drill for handguns.

Huachuca was where I did AIT in 1977. Beautiful place. I was last there around 1990 coordinating for one of the multi-purpose range builds. First time I saw antelope, AKA speed goats.

Hi Al. In 1990 I was the Scout Plt Sgt of the 8/40th and chased those speed goats with an M113 A3. Dang near got one. I do everything I can to get my folks to make themselfes as small a target as I can. Sit, kneel, stoop. whatever it takes to get their butts down.

Re: going to give free handgun instruction at Ft. Huachuca

Interesting. Is that the USAR Armor unit in Tuscon? I served at FORSCOM (FT McPherson GA) with a young Captain that (IIRC) had been a Company Commander there, probably commanded in the late '80's. Can't recall his name, good guy. The MPRC was being built for that unit... Did they ever complete it?

Good idea about getting off the "X" or out of the line of fire.

Hi the unit was disbanded around 90 or so.(but we are having a reunion April 18th) I had transferred to a year of AD at Ft. Ord then and then back to the 63rd ARCOM and worked with Colonel DePasque and the Marksmanship folks.
I loved Ft. Ord!!!!!!

An old guy shows up and gives some instruction. Dottering old fellow started his career in 1779, can't shoot very well but throw a Tomahawk with the best of them.

Re: going to give free handgun instruction at Ft. Huachuca

This class included 2 LEO's and 2 Wounded Warriors.
This young Sergeant, a 19D, was able to help his old instructor, a 19D40, with proper radio calls. He has a piece of shrapnel in his neck and a 7.62 bullet in his hip so he was able to modify his position and fire a perfect 10X in the 'stay in the fight' drill.
