Information accumulation with the internet can be a "iffy" thing for those of us who do not go to a lot of shooting schools. One of the easier ways is to subscribe to various sites and peoples daily or weekly emails. While you don't always get specific tips, techniques or practices, a wealth of information on various subjects is available. I tend to subscribe to daily emails from people or organizations that I have made a value judgment as to the accuracy and validity of their information. Just like reading TFL, THR, M4Carbine or Lightfighter forums, you tend (or at least I do) to find a poster or three that you respect and read their posts. I'll offer up two of my favorite email sources and I'll note that Lightfighter (http://lightfighter.net/eve/forums) offers a daily email digest of selected posters.
http://lightfighter.net/eve/forums - Caution! This site requires registration to get the digest (which you have to manage yourself) and the members can be a bit rough (NSW) with their posts. I mainly follow Pat Rogers, our very own Dan Watters and DocGKR. DocGKR is Gary Roberts, one of the premier ballistics researchers and small arms ammunition evaluaters.
http://www.thetacticalwire.com/ - very good source for Tiger McKee's thoughts and Rich Grassi does a great job on industry news. Comes out twice a week.
http://www.spw-duf.info/ - Mr. Wenger's excellent website. He also offers a daily email that is very valuable for self-defense stories and a brief analysis of good points and bad per incident, when such facts can be observed.
www.corneredcat.com - truly excellent web site for the new female shooter and it has lots of good information for those of us who teach ladies to shoot. Kathy Jackson, the web site author, does not offer a daily digest, but I've certainly been a frequent visitor and have recommended it to ladies for years.
http://www.defense-training.com/quips/quips.html - John Farnam post's his quips (notes from class and various sources) and is always interesting to read.
Note that I have not posted other web sites for two reasons - one, I find the ratio of RKI folks to others here to be about the best going. Two, the signal to noise ratio on other boards requires you to spend some time chasing down questions and dodging the clueless. This can be an enjoyable past time, but does not really meet the "best bang for the buck" test.
Thoughts and other internet sources I may be unaware of?
